Urolithin A is the rare longevity-adjacent compound with actual human RCTs behind it — not just mouse data and a marketing story. Across 7 human trials, a real, if modest, muscle-endurance and strength signal shows up repeatedly, in populations from sedentary 70-year-olds to elite distance runners. The catch, and it's a big one: 5 of those 7 trials are funded by, and co-authored by employees of, Amazentis SA — the company that owns the Mitopure brand and the underlying patents. Only Zhao 2024 is fully independent. This is the finding that separates urolithin A from most of the ingredients on this site: the Amazentis-funded trials (5 of the 7 in this evidence base) used Mitopure-branded urolithin A at 500-1,000mg/day depending on the trial, and Timeline sells Mitopure direct-to-consumer — it does not have a reliable, stable Amazon buy-box listing. Whether the independently-funded trials (Zhao 2024, the soccer pilot) used the same branded material isn't established in this evidence base.
