Best Quercetin 2026: Plain vs. Phytosome vs. Quercetin + Bromelain
Informational summary — not medical advice. This page ranks product value and label transparency; for what quercetin has been studied for, see the hub and the evidence review. This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Plain and phytosome quercetin are ranked separately here because they are not dose-equivalent — Riva 2019 found phytosome reaches up to 20x higher plasma levels than plain quercetin at the same labeled mg. Among plain products, Doctor's Best Quercetin Bromelain is the cheapest per mg that reaches 500mg in one serving, the amount most human trials used. Among phytosome products with a confirmed label mg, Thorne Quercetin Phytosome is cheapest per mg — though phytosome products cost more per mg across the board. One listing describes "50X Higher Absorption"; Riva 2019 measured up to about 20x, so the two figures are not the same measure, and that product's label mg was not independently confirmed by us.

Plain quercetin, ranked by cost per mg
Plain (unformulated) quercetin dihydrate is the form used in most human trials. It's cheap per mg but absorbs poorly (see the absorption problem). "Meets 500mg" flags whether one labeled serving reaches 500 mg, the amount most human trials used.
| Product | Quercetin mg | Bromelain mg | $ / serving | $ / mg quercetin | Meets 500mg |

| Nutricost Quercetin 1000 mg | 1000 mg | — | $0.33 | $0.00033 | Yes |

Phytosome quercetin, ranked by cost per mg
Phytosome (lecithin-bound, branded Quercefit) quercetin absorbs far better per mg — up to 20x more plasma quercetin than plain at the same mg (Riva 2019) — but costs more per mg and comes in lower label doses. A 2022 human trial (Yamada) used this form. Rows marked (est.) use unconfirmed label figures and should not be compared with confirmed rows. Do not compare these $/mg figures directly against the plain table above.
| Product | Quercetin mg (phytosome) | Label mg confirmed? | $ / serving | $ / mg quercetin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thorne Quercetin Phytosome | 250 mg | Yes | $0.77 | $0.00307 |
| Quercetin Complete (Quercefit Phytosome + Bromelain, Zinc, Vitamin C) | 500 mg (est.) | Not confirmed | $0.45 | $0.00090 (est.) |
Prices are Amazon buy-box figures from our last price check (the review date is shown below the table); they move. Cost per mg = price ÷ (servings × disclosed quercetin mg per serving), computed WITHIN each form only. Full data is a public CC BY JSON file.
Two notes on the labels
One listing describes "50X Higher Absorption." The pharmacokinetic study behind phytosome absorption claims (Riva 2019) measured up to 20x higher plasma quercetin for phytosome vs plain, a different figure from the 50x in that listing. This site does not repeat the 50X figure as fact. The listing's supplement-facts panel did not show the exact quercetin-phytosome mg per serving when we checked, so the mg and cost-per-mg figures above for this product are estimates from typical labels, not confirmed numbers. Check the current label before buying.
Quercetin + bromelain is a traditional pairing. NOW Foods and Doctor's Best both pair quercetin with bromelain, a pineapple-derived enzyme. We did not find a dedicated human trial of the combination itself, so this site does not present the pairing as studied beyond what each ingredient has on its own.
Verification check · Quercetin
What we could and could not verify about Quercetin
1 of the 6 is confirmed in NSF/ANSI 173: Thorne Quercetin Phytosome. The other 5 products we track are not listed in any registry we checked. That means nobody independent has confirmed them; it is not evidence against them.
Method: our Quercetin roster matched against the full public registries of third-party-certified supplements in the US, NSF/ANSI 173, USP Verified and Informed Sport, 5,317 listings, retrieved 2026-08-25. Absence means nobody independent has checked that Quercetin product, not that it failed. Full method and limitations.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best quercetin supplement?
No single winner across forms — ranked separately. Cheapest plain at 500mg per serving: Doctor's Best Quercetin Bromelain. Cheapest confirmed-mg phytosome: Thorne Quercetin Phytosome.
Should I buy plain or phytosome?
Plain is cheaper and reaches the amount most human trials used; phytosome absorbs up to 20x better per mg but costs more and comes in lower doses. Never treat the mg as interchangeable.
How does one listing's "50X" absorption figure compare with the study?
The study we cite (Riva 2019) measured up to about 20x higher plasma quercetin for phytosome versus plain, a different figure from 50x. That product's label mg was also not independently confirmed by us.
Is quercetin + bromelain clinically proven together?
No dedicated combination RCT was found. It's a traditional pairing, not a proven synergy.
