Most Kirkland Signature labels state the USP Verified mark. Of the 44 Kirkland Signature supplement labels filed with the NIH, 31 (70.5%) state the USP Verified mark, a rate Nature Made is close to among the brands we compared (61% of 31 tracked products; NOW Foods 1%). The fish oil label states USP Verified too, and it is 57% omega-3 as ethyl esters, the form absorbed at 73% of natural fish oil in one comparison; the Amazon version carries 300 mg of omega-3 in a 1,000 mg softgel.

USP runs a third-party program for finished supplements. Kirkland labels state the mark on much of the line: 31 of 44 labels state the mark, and among the tablets and softgels that make up the core range the rate is 70%. In our own catalog, Nature Made is at 61% across 31 tracked products; NOW Foods at 1% across 108; Nature’s Bounty at 0% of 26. The Nature Made report card has the same computation for that brand.

How we read the labels
Method: 44 on-market labels returned by the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database for the brand “Kirkland Signature” on 2026-09-18, read in full. Brand comparison rates are computed live from our catalog’s certification field and cover only the products we track for those brands. What it cannot tell you: Costco warehouse prices, products Costco sells that have not been filed with the NIH, or whether a reseller’s stock is the current lot.
The fish oil label: 57% omega-3 as ethyl esters
The Kirkland fish oil label on file with the NIH, Fish Oil 1200 mg, is a 1,200 mg softgel delivering 684 mg of total omega-3 fatty acids as ethyl esters, two rows of 410 and 274 mg, one softgel a day. The version sold on Amazon, Kirkland Signature Omega-3 Fish Oil Concentrate 1000 mg, is lower still: 300 mg of omega-3 in a 1,000 mg softgel, 30% concentration, against 750 mg in one NOW Foods Ultra Omega-3 softgel or 950 mg in one Sports Research Triple Strength Omega-3. To match one concentrated softgel you take 2.5 Kirkland softgels.
The form matters as much as the concentration. In a 72-volunteer comparison of concentrated fish oil formulations at the same EPA+DHA dose, bioavailability from ethyl esters was 73% of natural fish oil and from re-esterified triglycerides 124% (Dyerberg 2010, PMID 20638827). Ethyl esters need a fatty meal: in a crossover study of 54 adults, a prescription ethyl-ester omega-3 taken with a low-fat meal delivered a quarter of the EPA+DHA that a free-fatty-acid formulation did, and the gap narrowed to 1.3× with a high-fat meal (Davidson 2012, PMID 23312053). At the Amazon reseller price Kirkland’s fish oil is $0.16 per 1,000 mg of omega-3, rank 1 of 8; it lists the lowest omega-3 per softgel of any fish oil we track. At the warehouse price it would move up the table, and the concentration and the ethyl-ester form would not.

The fish oil: matching one concentrated softgel takes 2.5 Kirkland softgels, per the label figures above. The gummies: 75% of Kirkland’s gummy labels state the USP mark against 70% of the rest of the line, and the calcium gummies (Kirkland Signature Calcium 500 mg with D3 Adult Gummies) list 500 mg of calcium with 3 g of added sugar in two gummies; the calcium ranking compares tablets. Specialty lines: krill oil (120 mg of omega-3 per softgel), ubiquinol, turmeric and the UC-II joint formula state no USP mark.
