Eurycomanone is the compound labs measure to check an extract. The label says 2% on 200 mg, which is 4 mg. The lot report measured 4.64 mg a capsule. That sits inside the 0.8 to 6.0 mg a day that 100 to 400 mg of the trial extract holds.
What to know It is not the extract most trials used. No outside lab is named on its reports, and it is on no public testing list. Its lot report shows lead at 1.19 ppm against the brand’s own limit of 1.5 ppm. The 2% lot figures match an earlier lot’s exactly.

Why it is on the list Of the five products we checked, it is the only one on a public testing list. Informed Sport tests each batch for drugs banned in sport. It does not check how much of anything is in the capsule, so it says nothing about eurycomanone. Momentous also posts a lot report (lot 0151F6). It lists metals, with lead at 0.130 mcg/day, but sets no pass or fail limit.
What to know It is ground root, not an extract. The label gives 400 mg of root and no eurycomanone figure, so we cannot hold it up to the trials. A trial day costs $0.67, about 2.3 times our pick. Consider it if you compete in a drug-tested sport. Informed Sport lowers the risk, it does not remove it.

Why it is here Its label names LJ100. HP Ingredients, which sells LJ100, ran its LJ100 trials with Biotropics, the maker of Physta, the extract most trials used. We found no document that says the two are identical. Two capsules give 200 mg, the amount most trials used. Cost is figured on 2 capsules. The label’s own serving is 1 capsule, which is 100 mg.
What to know We could not confirm the amount by lab test. The lot report (lot AILUH) is from Canyonside Labs, Twin Falls ID, the company that makes the capsules. It calculates 100.8 mg of LJ100 a capsule and did not test eurycomanone. Metals were low: lead 0.184 ppm (limit 1.3 ppm). A trial day costs about 2.3 times our pick, and no testing list names it.

How close each one is to what the trials used
Most trials gave 200 mg a day of one standardized extract. That holds about 1.6 to 3 mg of eurycomanone. The 100 to 400 mg range holds 0.8 to 6.0 mg. “Lab report measures eurycomanone” means the brand’s posted lot report gives a measured figure.

What the trials show
The trials are small and short, and most used one extract, Physta, made in Malaysia by Biotropics Malaysia. Most were paid for by, or co-written by staff of, that company. The longest ran 6 months (Leitão 2021). Trials gave 50 to 600 mg a day, and most gave 200 mg.
In placebo trials of up to 12 weeks, blood tests showed no safety problems. Side effects in those trials were about as common as on placebo. The trials left out people with liver or heart disease, seizures, or cancer, so for those groups we have no data.
- EFSA. In 2021, Europe’s food safety agency reviewed a standardized water extract from the same maker. It found the extract has the “potential to induce DNA damage” in lab tests and said “the safety of NF has not been established under any condition of use.” (NF is the extract it reviewed.) EFSA also said the human studies “addressed only a limited number of safety endpoints.”
- Liver. NIH LiverTox rates tongkat ali a “possible rare cause of clinically apparent liver injury.” Its entry rests on one case report. The report argues that tongkat ali caused it, but the product, brand and dose are not known. LiverTox adds that unacknowledged steroid use or earlier liver disease may explain some cases like this.
- Heart rhythm. One other case report links tongkat ali to a heart-rhythm problem. The man was given heart-rate drugs when he stopped, so the cause is not proven.
- Medicine. A 200 mg water extract lowered the absorption of propranolol by 29% in one study of 14 healthy men (Salman 2010).
- FDA. We found no FDA approval, GRAS notice or ingredient notice for the extracts on this page (searched October 13, 2026).
Does tongkat ali work?
The evidence is thin. Across trials, men with normal testosterone saw no clear change (Leisegang 2022, a review of the trials; its results varied a lot). One 4-week trial in 63 stressed adults reported lower cortisol in saliva and better mood scores (Talbott 2013; paid for by Biotropics). A 24-week trial of the extract with multivitamins found no difference from placebo (George 2018). We found no new trial in men published in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
Dose, and what was tested
Most trials used 200 mg a day of one standardized water extract. Trials used 50 to 600 mg a day (the 600 mg was given for 2 weeks). We count 100 to 400 mg as the trial dose, where most trials sat. We found no trial of 1,000 mg a day. NIH LiverTox says “The effects of long term use and of higher doses, however, have not been assessed in humans.” More is not better. More has not been tested.
That is why we read each label against the trials, not against the front of the bottle. A ratio such as 200:1 is not an amount. A percent of eurycomanone is a figure you can compare, and only a lab report tells you if the capsule holds it. Details on lab reports are on the third-party tested page.

Why Double Wood 200:1 is not scored
We looked at Double Wood 200:1 and left it out of the score. Its label serving is 1,000 mg of extract plus 20 mg of tribulus, and the label gives a 200:1 ratio but no eurycomanone amount. Trials used 50 to 600 mg of an extract. We found no trial of 1,000 mg a day.
The lot report Double Wood posts for lot 2608907 (made June 2026), written by its contract maker, Brand Nutraceuticals, lists lead at 2.21 mcg a serving against a limit of less than 0.5 mcg. Read the report. Double Wood’s product page shows this result in a table headed “Meets Listed Specifications.” We show no buy link for it.

It is the share of the extract that is eurycomanone, a compound labs measure to check an extract. A 2% extract of 200 mg holds 4 mg. It is a marker, not proof of what the extract does.
