Is Sports Research Creapure Creatine Good?

Yes. Sports Research Creapure is a good creatine: each scoop is 5 g of Creapure creatine monohydrate, and it is on two lists from NSF, an independent lab: one checks every lot’s label and purity, the other screens for drugs banned in sport. It is the lowest-priced Creapure tub on both that we found on Amazon. If you are drug-tested, read the one catch below.

Why it is a good buy Its only ingredient is Creapure, the German creatine monohydrate that its maker, AlzChem, rates at 99.9% pure.

The one catch NSF/ANSI 173, which checks the label and the powder, covers every lot. NSF’s sport listing names one lot (26174B), so if you are drug-tested, match your lot or buy Ascent, below.

Drug-tested and want every batch screened: Ascent Clean Creatine

Ascent Clean Creatine is also Creapure and costs about the same a day as Sports Research. Informed Sport tests every batch for banned drugs before it ships, so there is no lot number to match.

Questions people ask

Is Sports Research creatine really Creapure?

The 450 g tub is sold as Creapure: the Creapure seal is on the label, the Amazon title says “w/Creapure,” and NSF’s listing names it “Creapure Creatine Monohydrate.” AlzChem’s public brand list did not name Sports Research when we checked, but that list is a showcase; the code on each Creapure seal, entered at creapure.com, is the real check.

Is Sports Research Creapure NSF certified?

Yes, on two NSF lists. NSF/ANSI 173 lists the Creapure tub for all lots, and NSF Certified for Sport has its own listing (number 1823536) for the 450 g unflavored tub, naming lot 26174B so far; your lot number is printed on the tub. BPN’s sport listing, by contrast, covers “All” lots. A review on AllAboutSupplements found no lab report for each batch on Sports Research’s site in October 2026, so the NSF listings are the public record. The Amazon title also says Informed Sport, but Informed Sport does not name this Creapure tub.

Which Sports Research tub is the Creapure one?

Look for “Creapure” on the front and 90 servings (450 g). The brand’s plain micronized tub is not Creapure, but Informed Sport lists a Sports Research creatine powder, and on Amazon it costs $0.21 to $0.28 a day in the 200- and 100-serving sizes, about half the Creapure tub’s price.

How it stacks up against 5 other Creapure tubs

Each tub below is sold as Creapure and gives 5 g of creatine monohydrate a scoop. Prices run from $0.38 to $0.45 a day, and Sports Research is the lower-priced of the two on NSF Certified for Sport. Cheapest first, at Amazon prices checked November 6, 2026.

More questions

Is Creapure better than regular creatine?

Not for results. It is creatine monohydrate from a known German maker with a published purity spec, and we found no study where it built more muscle at the same dose. See which tubs use Creapure.

How much Sports Research creatine should I take?

One 5 g scoop a day, rest days included. At 3 to 5 g a day your muscles fill up in about a month, with no loading week needed (Kreider 2017). See the creatine dosage guide.

Is it safe to take every day?

For healthy adults, yes, in studies lasting up to 5 years (Kreider 2017). It nudges up creatinine on a kidney blood test without changing measured kidney function (Naeini 2025). Ask a doctor first if you have kidney disease, are pregnant or are under 18. The FDA lists no recall naming Sports Research in the two years to November 4, 2026.

How we judged it

We call a creatine a good buy when it is the studied form and dose, on a public testing list, at a fair price. Sports Research meets all of that. More: the best creatine or the creatine guide.
