Is Nature Made B-complex USP Verified?

4 Nature Made B-complex products are. USP names the Super B-Complex with C tablets, the Super B Energy Complex softgels, the B-Complex with C caplets and the B-Complex gummies. Nature Made sells more B products than that, so the brand name alone is not enough. Its Stress B-Complex tablet, for example, did not come up when we searched USP’s list on November 5, 2026.

Informed Choice, a banned-substance program, also lists a “Nature Made B-Complex” in its October 27, 2026 list. That listing does not say which form, so we do not count it toward any one bottle here.

Is Thorne B-complex NSF certified?

Four Thorne B-complex products are on NSF/ANSI 173: B-Complex #12, B-Complex #6, Basic B Complex and Stress B-Complex. B-Complex #6 is also NSF Certified for Sport, which tests the lots it lists for banned substances.

Read NSF’s serving column. It lists #12, Basic B and Stress B at 3 capsules a day. The bottle says to take 1 capsule a day.

What does each testing program check?

All three check that the bottle holds what the label says. Only NSF Certified for Sport also tests for banned substances.

ProgramWhat it checks
USP VerifiedChecks that each vitamin on the label is the right one and in the stated amount, that the product is pure, and that it is made to quality standards. USP also audits the maker.
NSF/ANSI 173Checks that what is in the bottle matches the label, with nothing hidden added and no unsafe levels of contaminants. NSF audits the maker every year. It does not screen for banned substances.
NSF Certified for SportChecks the label the same way, then tests each certified lot for banned substances. NSF says it tests for more than 280 of them.

A B-complex is harder to check than a single vitamin. There are eight B vitamins in one pill, and the lab has to measure each one. Folate and B12 come in micrograms, a thousand times smaller than the milligrams of B6 or niacin. A listing covers every vitamin on the label, which is why it tells you more than a brand’s general promise about quality.

What did ConsumerLab find in B vitamins?

ConsumerLab bought 26 widely sold B-vitamin and B-complex products and sent them to outside labs. Its review, last updated October 22, 2026, says five of them failed because they held much less or much more than the label claimed. A failed product was retested at a second lab before the result stood.

To pass, a B-complex had to hold between 100% and 150% of each B vitamin it lists. ConsumerLab’s public page names Nature Made Super B among the products it tested; the results are for its members. Five failures in 26 is about one in five of the B products it bought. The listed products above are ones you can look up yourself, for free.

Does “third-party tested” on a label mean anything?

On its own, not much. The phrase is a maker claim. It does not say which lab did the test, which lot it tested or what the lab looked for, and a buyer has no way to check it.

Watch for claims about the factory, too. NOW’s Amazon listing for its B-50 says “GMP Quality Assured: A-rated, third-party certification”, and Bronson’s says “Manufactured at cGMP registered facility”. Both are about how the plant is run. Neither says an outside lab checked what is in this bottle.

A listing is different. USP and NSF post the exact product name on their own websites, where anyone can look it up. If a brand you like only says “tested”, ask it for the certificate of analysis for the lot number on your bottle. A real one names the lab and the amount of each vitamin it found.

Is a tested B-complex also a safe dose?

Not by itself. Testing checks the label against the bottle. It does not judge the dose. Thorne B-Complex #6 is on two NSF lists and holds 100 mg of B6, which is NIH’s daily upper limit for adults. In 2023 Europe’s food safety agency set its own limit at 12 mg. That number is a safety margin, not a dose shown to cause harm.

Niacin has a limit too. NIH’s upper limit for niacin from supplements is 35 mg a day, and it counts niacinamide. 7 of the listed products are over it, including Klean B-Complex, Thorne B-Complex #12, Igennus Super B-Complex. Our pick has 25 mg.

So pick in two steps. First, find a bottle on a list. Then read its Supplement Facts for B6. For most people taking a B-complex every day, a product under 12 mg, like our pick at 2 mg, is the simpler choice. The B-complex dosage guide explains each limit and has a label check.

How do I check my own bottle?

  1. Look for the USP Verified mark or the NSF mark on the bottle. A mark on the website alone is not enough.
  2. Search USP’s list or NSF’s list for the exact product name. For athletes, search NSF Certified for Sport.
  3. Match the form and strength. Nature Made and Thorne each have listed and unlisted B products side by side.
  4. Read the B6, folate and B12 lines on the Supplement Facts panel and compare them with the dosage guide.

Which other B-complex products are on a list?

These are listed too, but we did not find the same product as a single bottle on Amazon, or it is a store brand. Lists read November 5, 2026.

Questions

Is Nature Made Super B-Complex USP Verified?

Yes. USP’s list names “Nature Made Super B-Complex With C Tablets”. USP also lists 3 other Nature Made B-complex products: the Super B Energy Complex softgels, the B-Complex with C caplets and the B-Complex gummies. We read the list on November 5, 2026.

Is Nature’s Bounty Super B-Complex third-party tested?

We did not find it on USP’s or NSF’s list when we searched on November 5, 2026. Nature’s Bounty has other products on USP’s list, so check the exact product name, not the brand. If you want a listed tablet at a similar price, Nature Made Super B-Complex with C is USP Verified.

Is Life Extension BioActive Complete B-Complex third-party tested?

It is not on USP’s or NSF’s list under that name (searched November 5, 2026). It has methylfolate and methyl B12, like NATURELO B Complex, but its 2-capsule serving holds 100 mg of B6.

Is Klean B-Complex NSF Certified for Sport?

Yes. NSF Certified for Sport lists Klean B-Complex, 60 capsules, 1 capsule a serving, sold in the United States. It is also on NSF/ANSI 173. Its B12 is adenosyl and hydroxy B12, not methyl B12.

Which tested B-complex has methylfolate and methyl B12?

7 of the listed products use both: NATURELO B Complex, Thorne B-Complex #12, Igennus Super B-Complex, Thorne B-Complex #6, Codeage Methylfolate B Complex+, Thorne Basic B Complex, Thorne Stress B-Complex. NATURELO B Complex costs the least a day ($0.22) and has 5 mg of B6. Klean B-Complex has methylfolate but uses adenosyl and hydroxy B12.

How much B-complex should I take?

Take one serving a day, as the label says. The amounts in a serving vary a lot by brand, so compare the B6 line first. See the B-complex dosage guide.
